Somerset Printing has an FTP and Appleshare server for its Electronic Prepress department

Our system does not allow Anonymous FTP (for security reasons). We must set up an account for you prior to your first use of the system. To set up an account, please contact Allan or Monica at 650-342-8545, or email us at prep@somersetprinting.com

Our server can be accessed over the Internet by clients as follows:

1)  From a Macintosh:

Using System 9.2 or less, enter our server’s IP address in your chooser as follows:

Select Appleshare in your chooser window, then click on the "Server IP Address" radio button. Enter our IP address, 216.103.68.244 or ftp1.somersetprinting.com, and click "connect". Enter your assigned user name and password, and again click "connect". Highlight the "Client Downloads" folder and click "OK". Close your chooser.
Using OS X, under the "Go" menu, select "Connect to Server", and enter our IP address, 216.103.68.244 or ftp1.somersetprinting.com in the window that opens; click the"connect" radio button. Enter your assigned user name and password where requested. In the window that opens, select the"Client Downloads" folder and click the "OK" button.

In any Mac system, our"Client Downloads" folder will appear on your desktop. Open it (if not already open) and open the enclosed, numbered folder assigned to your account. You may now drag and drop files to or from your computer through this folder.

2)  From any other system:
Open your FTP client software, and enter ftp1.somersetprinting.com in the"Connect to" window or enter our IP address, 216.103.68.244 (If you do not have FTP client software, a free copy can be downloaded here). Enter your assigned user name and password where appropriate. The"Client Downloads" folder will appear in your window; navigate to the enclosed, numbered folder assigned to your account. You may now upload or download files to this folder.

Please stuff your files before uploading them, and then notify us by phone or e-mail when you have transferred files so that we can retrieve them.
